The Field Museum's famous t-rex Sue had her arm CT scanned by Dr. Nicholas Gruszauskas and Dr. Christopher Straus at UCM last Wednesday. They are trying to understand what Sue's arms did and how they did it while she was still living. The team has scanned other fossils and specimens for the Field Museum before.
With these scans, researchers will make digital models of the arms to help measure the range of motion between the joints and figure out what they were able to do and how strong they were at one time. To view the CBS news coverage, click here.
