Dr. Maryellen Giger has been awarded a NIBIB contract to develop a new Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC) in collaboration with the nation’s largest medical imaging associations, such as ACR, RSNA and AAPM. MIDRC will be an open-source database with medical images from COVID-19 patients around the nation. The contract is funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering of the National Institutes of Health.
This is an outstanding achievement and a mile stone for our Department as well as the University. We are very proud of Dr. Giger's leadership on this major national imaging initiative.
