IR-Integrated Interview Day
For the 2027 Match cycle, we will be hosting 3 interview dates: 2 in-person (11/18 & 11/20) and 1 virtual (11/19).
In-Person Interviews
Applicants are invited to attend a casual dinner with our current residents the evening before their interview. This is an opportunity to meet the residents, ask questions about the program, and learn more about living and training in Chicago. Additional information regarding the dinner time and location will be provided to each interview group in the weeks leading up to the interview.
Interviews will be conducted in person at The University of Chicago Medicine's main campus in Hyde Park. There will be two interview groups each day: a morning group and an afternoon group.
The morning group should plan to arrive by 8:00 AM. The day will begin with a brief welcome, followed by faculty and resident interviews. Morning interviews will conclude at approximately 10:30 AM.
At that time, the morning and afternoon groups will come together for a welcome and detailed presentation about the program from the Program Director. Applicants will then participate in a resident-guided tour of the department and have the opportunity to attend noon conference with our IR and DR residents.
Following noon conference, at approximately 12:45 PM, the morning group will conclude their interview day and the afternoon group will begin interviews. Afternoon interviews are expected to conclude by 3:00 PM.
Virtual Interviews
Applicants participating in the virtual interview day will be invited to an informal Zoom gathering with current residents the evening before their interview. This provides an opportunity to meet our residents, ask questions, and learn more about the program and life in Chicago. Additional details will be provided in the week leading up to the interview.
All interviews will be conducted via Zoom, with both a morning and afternoon interview group. The morning group should plan to log in by 7:45 AM, and the afternoon group should plan to log in by 10:00 AM. More detailed scheduling information will be provided when applicants select their interview time.
Each applicant will interview with three faculty members and one resident and will also have an opportunity to speak informally with current residents in a virtual break room. During the interview day, applicants will meet the Department Chair, learn more about the residency program, and attend our noon conference. The morning group is expected to finish by approximately 12:30 PM, while the afternoon group is expected to finish by approximately 3:00 PM.
