DOSAR Event - 2022

On Saturday, July 16th, a group of radiology staff and faculty participated in the UChicago Medicine Day of Service and Reflection (DOSAR) event. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, DOSAR was back in person this year and our team showed up with strong support to welcome back this important annual event. Team members spent the day volunteering their time at surrounding community sites like Eden Place and Roseland Christian Ministries thrift store. From gardening to donation sorting—our team donated over 70+ volunteer hours to our community! We are always grateful for the opportunity to engage with and support our south side community. Thank you to the Urban Health Initiative for their leadership in organizing the DOSAR event, we are already planning for next year!

“It was a wonderful, fulfilling experience to get together with friends and colleagues at the DOSAR activity. We were able to connect with our community members while working on various outdoor activities planned by UCM to help our community. Kudos to the organizers for such a wonderful event and thanks to everyone who attended!"

DOSAR Event - 2023

On June 24, more than 100 volunteers participated in the 21st annual Day of Service and Reflection (DOSAR). UChicago Medicine and Biological Sciences Division colleagues and friends helped serve 13 partner organizations across the South Side with projects like painting, cleaning, gardening and more. A group of radiology staff and faculty participated by volunteering at the Olive Branch Mission - from giving a paint refresh to a worn recreation room, to assembling toiletry kits to welcome new residents, to gardening to spruce up the entry way.

Watch the video for a recap of the day, where the Radiology team is proudly featured, along with Mark Anderson, MD, PhD, Dean and Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs, in serving the community together.
