Dr. Iclal Ocak joined the Department of Radiology on November 1st as an Associate Professor working in the Chest Imaging section. Originally from Turkey, Dr. Ocak earned her medical degree at Hacettepe University School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency at the same institution. She moved to the USA in 2005, where she worked for two years at the NIH as a clinical fellow. She then joined the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, working there from 2007-2023. She has worked the Pittsburgh VA lunch cancer screening program since 2022.
In her free time, Dr. Ocak enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her daughter, especially hiking in the beautiful city parks of Pittsburgh. One of their recent hikes through Schenley Park is pictured above.
