Dr Sammet elected to Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification Academy Committee

Congratulations to Dr. Steffen Sammet on his election to the Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification Academy Committee. Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) refers to the practice of trained medical professionals using ultrasound as diagnostic or procedural guidance to help guide the evaluation and management of patients. The POCUS Certification Academy, together with its partner organizations the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement (APCA), has a leading role in the development of certifications for diagnostic medical sonography.

The POCUS Certification Academy provides physicians and advanced-practice practitioners the opportunity to collaborate in the shared mission of improving global health and setting the standards of excellence in Point-of-Care Ultrasound. As a member of the POCUS Certification Academy Committee, Dr. Sammet will develop benchmarks to evaluate clinical proficiency, excellence, safety and commitment to patient care of physicians and advanced-practice practitioners in Point-of-Care Ultrasound.
