Dr. Carina Yang receives Bucksbaum Institute Senior Faculty Scholar Award

Congratulations to Dr. Carina Yang on being chosen as a Senior Faculty Scholar in the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence.  Dr. Yang has been selected to be a Bucksbaum Scholar because she has been recognized by her peers as an exceptional clinician, teacher, mentor, and physician who recognizes the importance of personal care, effective communication, and strong doctor-patient relationships.

Senior Faculty Scholars are a group of outstanding clinicians and teachers who are current members of the University faculty, and who personify the mission and goals of the Bucksbaum Institute to improve the doctor-patient relationship and the care of patients. As a Bucksbaum Institute Senior Faculty Scholar, each senior faculty member is asked to mentor, coach, and advise Bucksbaum Institute Students, Junior Faculty, and Associate Junior Faculty Scholars.

Established at UChicago Medicine in 2011, The Bucksbaum Institute is committed to improving patient care and the doctor-patient relationship by strengthening communication and decision-making between doctors and patients and by having our Bucksbaum Scholars teach these skills to students, residents, and junior faculty.
