Starting as a response to an assignment during the UCM Medical Education Research, Innovation, Teaching, and Scholarship (MERITS) Program 2016-2017, previous project partners Dr. Carina Yang and hospitalist Dr. Joyce Tang were encouraged to further develop this hypothetical idea of "Imaging Wisely" involving teaching ACR Appropriateness Criteria to medical interns into a didactic add-on to the medicine curriculum, utilizing "Radiology Teaches." Subsequently, this resulted in a team research project including participation by alumna Dr. Jessica Telleria-Cano and eventual publication in Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).
