Drs. Salman Islam and Dan Kwak were voted this year's Chief Residents.
As Chiefs, they will be responsible for making the yearly schedule for all residents, optimizing daily schedules, acting as liaisons between faculty and trainees, and helping the resident leadership/core faculty organize orientation for incoming residents. Furthermore, they will be instrumental in recruitment season participating in interviews, setting up pre-interview dinners and representing the Department to all applicants, organizing second-looks and providing tours, and acting as constant resources to the PD/APD and faculty during selection months. They will also organize the moonlighting schedule, handle all vacation and conference requests, and serve on the ACGME committees for education.
