Dr. Steffen Sammet Appointed Chair of The Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification Academy Council

The Inteleos Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Steffen Sammet as the Chair of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Certification Academy Council. His appointment as POCUS Academy Council Chair will start on January 1st, 2024. 

Dr. Sammet is currently the Vice Chair of the POCUS Academy Council and has now been elected to become the Chair of the POCUS Academy Council. In this role, he will lead the development of benchmarks to evaluate clinical proficiency, excellence, safety and commitment to patient care of physicians and advanced-practice practitioners in Point-of-Care Ultrasound globally. 

Point-of-Care Ultrasound refers to the practice of physicians and other trained medical professionals using ultrasound as diagnostic or procedural guidance to help guide the evaluation and management of patients. The POCUS Certification Academy, together with its partner organizations the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement (APCA), has a leading role in the development of certifications for diagnostic medical sonography. The POCUS Certification Academy provides physicians and advanced-practice practitioners the opportunity to collaborate in the shared mission of improving global health and setting the standards of excellence in Point-of-Care Ultrasound.
