Brenda Gonzales's Work to Raise Breast Health Awareness in Chicago

Brenda Gonzales, the Department’s Clinical Research Coordinator, has been working to raise breast health awareness in Hyde Park and beyond. Some of her recent efforts have included partnering with the UChicago Medicine (UCM) marketing team to table at the Hyde Park and Orland Park campuses, convincing employees to get their mammograms. Brenda even dressed up as the “Mammogram Police” to convince employees to care of themselves by getting their mammogram.

Brenda, Dr. Kulkarni, and other members of the UCM breast and marketing teams also volunteered at the American Cancer Society Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk at Soldier Field on Saturday October 14th. There was a great turnout, and the team handed out 1500 UCM pink drawstring bags.

Thank you to Brenda for all her efforts to raise breast health awareness! Please reach out to her if you would like to volunteer for future events.
