The University of Chicago Department of Radiology accepts two residents per year into the IR/DR residency program. All positions are filled through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) utilizing the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). - USMLE Step 1 Scores – we do not require USLME Step 2 scores be available by October 1st, but passages of both USLME Step 1 and 2 are required for entry into the program.

All applicants must complete all pre-requisite training in an ACGME-accredited internship or residency program before entering or transferring into an ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship program. This includes residents entering into a PGY2 level specialty.
We will begin accepting applications in September 2023 for advanced positions to begin in July 2025. ZOOM interviews will be held on these 3 dates: October 25, October 27, and November 1, 2023. All of the interview days will be through ZOOM. There will not be any in-person interviews.
We review all applications and invite candidates to interview as the review process proceeds. If you have applied for radiology residency through ERAS, you will be notified by e-mail if an invitation to interview will be issued. The timing of your interview does not affect your chances of obtaining a position in our residency program. Once you have received an invitation to interview, please respond as promptly as possible. Interviews are conducted on 2 Wednesdays and a Friday, via ZOOM.
While there is not a strict deadline, applicants are encouraged to submit all materials promptly as invitations are offered continuously.
