Dr Katzman Named Interim Chief Quality Officer for the University of Chicago Medicine

We are proud to announce that Dr. Greg Katzman was named Interim Chief Quality Officer for the University of Chicago Medicine on September 19, 2017.

In the announcement, Dr. Stephen Weber, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Clinical Effectiveness for the University of Chicago Medicine, highlighted Dr. Katzman's work in the Department as our Quality Chief and Vice Chair of Operations, his work at previous institutions, and involvement in research and teaching.

"Dr. Katzman has served as Quality Chief, Vice Chair of Radiology Operations, and Chief Business Development Officer for the Department of Radiology since 2011.  In that time he, has overseen programming in performance improvement and high reliability based on evidence-based practice, rigorous performance measurement and accountability.  He has emerged as a leader in navigating the interface between departmental and institutional support for quality and safety efforts.
Prior to joining the University of Chicago in 2010, Dr. Katzman served as the Chairman of Radiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.  Previously he was co-creator and Vice-Director of the Utah Center for Advance Imaging Research at the University of Utah and Chief of Imaging Services at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System.
Dr. Katzman has published more than 40 primary journal articles and reviews, 70 textbook chapters, and 275 online case reports and case challenges. As an invited speaker, he has presented 89 invited lectures on three different continents, including multiple international visiting professorships.  He serves on multiple national committees and has won numerous awards recognizing excellence as a teacher and clinician."
