Randy Miles, MD, MPH, serves as Section Chief of Breast Imaging and Director of Early Cancer Detection at the University of Chicago Medicine. In these roles, he leads clinical, research, and population health initiatives focused on improving breast cancer screening and early detection.
As a breast imaging radiologist, Dr. Miles has led clinical and operational initiatives involving advanced imaging technologies, patient experience, and health system efficiency. His research focuses on operational redesign, risk stratification, and improving population-level screening performance. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, presented nationally and internationally, and collaborated with global partners to develop and optimize breast imaging programs.
Dr. Miles serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American College of Radiology and the Journal of Breast Imaging. He is also Co-Chair of the American College of Radiology Practice Parameters Committee on Digital Breast Tomosynthesis.
