Multi-modality Imaging
Our researchers pioneered the concept of multi-modality image integration, in which images of the
same area or organ acquired by different modalities or at various times are fused by means of computer vision techniques
into single images. These newly created integrated images often can result in new knowledge that was unavailable previously
from the original images. This approach is an exciting area for breakthroughs and should have special value in some serious
disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia, and will also be universally important as a planning tool for
surgeons.
