Dr. Funaki is the Section Chief and Editor-in-Chief of Seminars in Interventional Radiology. He has over 50 peer reviewed scientific publications and numerous abstracts, scientific exhibits and invited lectures. As a radiology resident, he wrote and published the “Radiology On-Call Survival Guide”. His interests include venous interventions, embolization for mesenteric hemorrhage, and non-invasive vascular imaging.

Dr. Leef is currently the director of clinical operations of the radiology department at Weiss Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Chicago and then served as the section chief from 1992 until 2004. His interests include hepatobiliary and transplant interventions.

Dr. Lorenz is Director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program. His medical school, residency and fellowship training were all completed at the University of Chicago. His clinical interests include TIPS biliary intervention transplant intervention and bronchial artery embolization.

Dr. Rosenblum is a member of both the sections of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology. He is the section chief of the latter section. His medical school, residency and fellowship training were all completed at the University of Chicago and he has been on the radiology faculty since 1992. His clinical interests include TIPS and portal intervention, neurointervention, including angioplasty, thrombolysis and endovascular treatment of aneurysms.

Dr. Straus was born at the University of Chicago Hospital and has never left. He attended the University of Chicago Laboratory School, performed his undergraduate work at the University of Chicago, and did all of his post-graduate work (including medical school, residency and fellowship) at the University of Chicago. He joined the faculty in the Department of Radiology in 1997.

Dr. Regalado is the newest member of the VIR group. He completed his residency and fellowship at The University of Chicago. Currently, he practices IR at The University of Chicago and both general radiology and IR at Weiss Hospital. His interests include dialysis intervention and uterine artery embolization as well as varicose vein ablation.
