The section performs approximately 7,000 procedures per year. These procedures include:

Vascular Intervention, including diagnostic angiography, angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, and in conjunction with the vascular department, stent graft placement. We also perform thrombolysis of deep venous thrombosis, IVC filter placement, embolization for trauma related hemorrhage or other type of bleeding.

Venous access, including port and permacath placement, AV graft thrombolysis using both mechanical devices and TPA, venoplasty and venous stenting.

Gynecologic intervention, including uterine artery embolization

Gastrointestinal intervention, including percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, cholangioplasty and biliary stent placement, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) insertion, gastrostomy and jejunostomy catheter placement, intestinal stricture dilatation, regional cancer therapy, hepatic transplant intervention.

Urologic intervention, including percutaneous nephrostomy and nephroureterostomy catheter placement, ureteral stent placement, ureteroplasty, varicocele embolization, renal transplant intervention.

Thoracic intervention, including chest tube placement, bronchial artery embolization.

Pediatric intervention includes a wide range of procedures performed in the pediatric population.

Miscellaneous procedures include abscess drainage, adrenal vein sampling.
